ITSA 2023 Recap

Our time travelers came back from the future to attend the ITS America Forum and Expo in Dallas TX, and with them they brought next generation solutions that promote the safety of all road users and focus on creating a better quality of life. Let’s look back on four successful days that were packed with technological innovations, inspiring conversations, and new connections.
Introducing Yutraffic Blade – the first edge computing controller on the market
One of the many highlights of the event was the official launch of the Yutraffic Blade at our booth. This powerful next generation platform is a gamechanger for the industry, and is capable of futureproofing intersections for cities and rural areas. With features like a dual core processor powerful enough to run multiple applications, remote diagnostics, and advanced analytics on the controller, the Yutraffic Blade made waves during the show and without a doubt will continue do to so in the industry.

“After years of hard work, it was great to introduce the Yutraffic Blade at ITSA. I am overwhelmed by the response from the industry so far and it makes me know we are on the right track in our development of future solutions” said Michael Gaertner, Head of DOP US.
If you want to find out more about the Yutraffic Blade, we highly recommend checking out this interview with Rodney Mathis, Managing Director Yunex Traffic US, and Michael Gaertner, Head of DOP US, where they provide more insights in the technology and its impact.
Safer roads powered by technology: our Vision Zero solutions
Together with Bosch, we also unveiled our Vision Zero solutions which protect all road users, particularly Vulnerable Road Users (VRUs) like pedestrians and bicyclists. The interactive demo showed our visitors how Bosch’s high performance processing platform and AI along with our CV2X technology the Road Side Unit (RSU) not only detects vulnerable road users, but also sends Basic Safety Messages (BSMs) to road users and drivers.
Insightful speeches and inspiring discussions
In special sessions and panels our product experts provided insights into our solutions and projects.
Iouri Nemiroviski, Senior Product Manager Devices, took part in important discussions around CV2X Device Maturity and offered guidance for deployers looking to integrate Onboard (OBU) and Roadside Units (RSU) into interoperable connectivity systems. Dave Miller, Senior Program Manager CV2X, participated in a panel with key thought leaders in the vehicle and infrastructure space such as Qualcomm, Audi, Ford, Yunex Traffic and Applied Information discussing the important role of infrastructure standards in this ecosystem. We wrapped the show with a panel on Elevating Women in Transportation where women from Yunex Traffic, Q-Free and the ITSA shed light on the challenges women face in the ITS Industry.

In summary, we can say: ITSA was a great success for us and the industry! We were very excited to show the industry the technologies that will change the future of mobility. Our time travelers now headed back into their DeLorean to prepare for the next time we will be on the road – which will be at the IMSA in Reno June 24th – 27th! We can’t wait to see what they bring with them next time – and can highly encourage you to save the date and meet us there
